Our Heroes - Armed Forces Day
Hello bloggers today's card is one I made for Armed Forces Day which was yesterday in the UK.
This card began as a white 6x6 hammered card blank to which I adhered my background paper. The background paper came from Crafter's Companion 'Occupations' CD and was printer onto some cream linen effect pearlised paper. Next I printed out my two decoupage sheets also from the CD. These were cut out by hand and mounted up using foam pads. The army image is an off side pyrimage and the police image is an invertage. These were then adhered to the card blank. Finally the sentiment was stamped using ice spruce distress ink and Clarity Stamps 'letterbox' stamp set. These were cut out and the edges were inked up. The sentiment was adhered to the card with foam pads.

The flowers of tomorrow are the seeds of today!
Hello bloggers today's has been made using a new technique I have recently discovered.
This card began as a 6x6 white hammered card blank. Using masking tape and tumbled glass, faded denim and broken china distress inks I made my own background. This was done by cutting strips of masking tape and inking it up by across the ink pad sticky side down. It was then stuck to the card and I rubbed over it with my finger tips and then removed the tape. This was then repeated with all three colours of ink. I had to do each colour three times as my making tape was rather thin, but if you had wider tape it would only take one application depending on your card size. Once the background was completed I used perfect medium clear ink to ink through a mask. The mask used was That Special Touch 'dandelion' mask. This was then covered with Cosmic Shimmer 'true white' embossing powder. A heat gun was then used to complete the embossing process. Once this was done the white embossing didn't show up as expected so I replaced the mask over the embossed detail and inked through the mask with black soot distress ink. Finally I stamped my sentiment using black soot distress ink and Creative Expressions ' sentimental sayings' stamp set. This was then die cut using Spellbinders 'back to basic tags' die. Whilst still in the die I inked through with tumbled glass distress ink. The sentiment was then attached to the card with two blue brads.
Hope you like the newly discovered masking tape technique. Happy Crafting xx Hazel

Windmill/Pinwheel Smiles and Flowers
Hello bloggers today's card is a summery flower bed.
This card began as a DL white hammered card blank. First I adhered the sky background that I found in my scrap stash to form the backdrop to my flower bed. Next I die cut the pinwheel/windmill flowers using different card stocks and papers as well as spellbinders 'pinwheel' die set. Then I poke a whole in each end and the center and folded in each side as I went around the die cut attaching it with a brad. Once complete the brad legs were opened on the back and foam tape was attached. I repeated this process for all four flowers. The flower stalks were die cut from some green ribbed paper and used Spellbinders 'foliage' die set. I cut the dies down to vary the height of the flowers and then adhered them to the card base. The flowers were then attached to the stalks. Finally I stamped my sentiment using Polka Doodles 'sensational sentiments' stamp set and dusty concord distress ink. This was then die cut with Spellbinders 'scallop labels one' die set and inked through the die with the same ink pad. It was then adhered to the card with foam tape. I love the way these pinwheels look, it works better with double sided papers as you get to see both patterns.

My Heart Is With You
Hello bloggers today's card is a cute love card.
This card began as a 5 1/2" square Kraft card. First I cut a mat from the green floral patterned card stock and adhered it to the card base. Next with some green gingham card stock I cut a smaller mat for the topper. I wrapped some lovely red love ribbon around the gingham card stock and attached it behind with double sided tape and then adhered this piece to the main card. The topper was stamped onto white card stock using memento black ink pad and Whiff Of Joy stamp (no stamp name again sorry). This was then cut out and coloured using ProMarkers. In between the elf image and the trailer there was a very thin line that I cut off. I then added some waxed twine to the two pieces to join them back together. The topper was then adhered to the card with foam tape. Next I added three metal brad hearts to the top right of the card. Finally I stamped my sentiment onto some patterned paper using black soot distress ink and Creative Expressions 'sentimental sayings' stamp set. I cut this out and adhered to the card with foam tape.

You're Bloomin' Fabulous!
Hello bloggers today's card is another card made using a Whiff of Joy Stamp.
This card began as a 5 1/2" square kraft card blank. First I cut a mat from some striped paper to 5" square, this was then adhered to the card blank. Onto some white card stock I stamped the elf image using Whiff Of Joy stamp (sorry don;t know the name) and staz-on ink pad. I then stamped it again onto some different patterned papers. These were all cut out and the patterned pieces were pieced onto the white stamped image. The flowers were coloured with brush markers. Next the topper was adhered to the green mat. The sentiment was stamped using black soot distress ink and Creative Expressions 'sentimental sayings' stamp set. Finally three white candi's (faux brads) were coloured with a ProMarker and covered it with glossy accents before being adhered to the card.

This card began as a 5 1/2" square kraft card blank. First I cut some purple glitter card to 5" square to form a mat for the card blank. Some lavender card stock was cut to 4 1/2" square to make another mat. Both mats were then adhered to the card blank. Next onto some white card stock I stamped the mushroom image which is from Whiff of Joy Stamps (sorry don't know the name of this stamp). Winter Wishes
Hello blogger's a winter wishes card today, yes I'm afraid it that time in the crafters' calendar to begin the mass Christmas card making process.
This card began as a DL white hammered card stock. First I added a green mirror board mat to the card blank. Next onto some white card stock I stamped my sentiments background. I achieved this by attaching all the sentiments which were from Justrite 'large merry Christmas sentiments' stamp set to a large slimz block and stamping using evergreen bough distress ink. I added a few faux gems to some of the letter on the background. This was then adhered to the green mirror mat. Using Crafters' Companion 'The snowman' stamp set I stamped the winter wishes sentiment using evergreen bough distress ink. This was then die cut with Spellbinders 'holiday tags' die set. Whilst still in the die I inked through with the same distress ink. A brad was used to attach the tag to the card. Finally using some gingham green ribbon I tied a small bow and attached it to the tag.

Vintage Happy Birthday
Hello blogger's today's card has a vintage feel to it, I've had these stamps for absolutely ages and never used them. I hope you like the results!
This card began as a DL white hammered card blank. First I added a mat from some gold pearlescent card stock. A piece of white card stock was cut to size to mat on top of the gold one. Using walnut stain distress ink I swiped the whole ink pad across the center of the card stock. Next I stamped the two cars using the stamp set and ink pad provided in the pack (Sorry, but I don't know what the set is called or where I got it from). I then stamped the clock and drew on some hands with a black pen. I also stamped the vintage signage on the right hand side. The fan stamp is also from the same set and this was stamped along the top and bottom edges of the card. Finally the card was adhered to the card base and a sentiment was added after being inked with walnut stain distress ink.

Happy Birthday Pretty Princess
Hello blogger's another birthday card today. This card is made from the decoupage that I didn't use yesterday, so you get two cards out of one decoupage sheet.
This card is made using a DL size white hammered card blank. First I covered the front with silver holographic mirror board. Next I cut a piece of coordinating pink card stock and made a mat for the topper which I adhered to the card. The decoupage pieces were popped out of their locking joints, I sanded the edges and inked them with a black ProMarker. The decoupage was then mounted up and added to the pink mat to form the topper.
The pretty princess text was from the decoupage sheet and I just cut it to size, sanded and inked the edges with pink ink. A balloon sticker was attached to the top left of the text and this was all adhered to the card. Two pink faux gems were added one either side of the text. Finally the 'happy birthday' sentiment was added after being sanded and inked on the edges. A simple but frugal way to use decoupage, I use this method often.

Happy Birthday Cupcake
Hello blogger's today's card a cute cupcake card.
This card began as A6 white card blank. Using some patterned card stock I cut it to make a mat slightly smaller than the blank on one side. This was adhered to the card blank. Next using some pink polka dot ribbon I adhered a strip down the side of the card and added a ribbon tie to the strip, this was all adhered in place. I cut some pink holographic mirror board to finish off the end of the card. The topper was from a decoupage sheet, but I just used the first piece as a topper. I popped it out of the locking joint and then filed down the edges for a smooth finish. I then inked the edges so there were no white card showing through. The topper was then adhered to the card. The sentiment was from a sheet of sentiments that I popped out, sanded and inked up the edges, this was adhered with foam pads to the card. Finally the cupcake letters which were from my stash, I inked them with some pink ink and sealed them with hairspray. These were then adhered to the card.

Happy Birthday Seraphina
Hello blogger's I have a cute mouse card for you today.
This card began as an 8x8 white card blank. First I took some patterned papers and cut them into squares and rectangles to make the background for the card. Next from Doolicrafts 'Seraphina through the ages' CD I printed out a couple of digi stamps and the sentiment and coloured them with ProMarkers. Using Spellbinders 'grand scallop circles' dies I cut the topper out and also used the next largest die to cut a mat from some black and silver mirror board. I attached the topper to the mat and then added some glossy accents to the water in the watering can and the water from the spout. The sentiment was die cut using Spellbinder's 'labels 21' die, whilst still in the die I inked through with Victorian velvet distress ink. Finally the flowers digi stamp was die cut with Spellbinders 'labels 16' die. It was then inked through with bundled sage distress ink whilst still in the die. Father's Day with Cadbury Dairy Milk
Hello blogger's today I have a card from yesterday (couldn't show it until it had been given). It's a father's day card but could easily be used for a number of occasions by changing the sentiment.
This card began as a 6x6 white hammered card blank. First using some navy blue card stock I embossed it using That Special Touch Mask ' cogs'. Whilst the mask was still in place I inked through it with faded jeans distress ink. This was then adhered to the card blank. Next from some blue pearlescent paper I cut a pocket shape out freehand. With a blue pen I added faux stitching to the pocket and turned the top over. Here I added some blue buttons. Using Polka Doodles ' sensational sentiment' stamp set I stamped out the 'Day' text using faded jeans distress ink. This was then punched out using a 1.5" circle punch and the edges were distressed with the same ink. Next using Creative Expressions 'sentimental sayings' stamp set I stamped out the 'Happy' text with faded jeans distress ink, punched it out with the circle punch and distressed the edges. These were then attached to the card using foam tape. The 'Fathers' text was created using faded jeans distress ink and some pearlescent paper which was stamped with clarity 'Letterbox' stamp set. patchwork and butterflies
Hello bloggers today's card if one for the girls with a bit of patchwork and some butterflies.
This card began as a 6x6 white hammered card blank. First using Papermania Colossal border papers 'oriental spice,' I chose six different papers to weave into a patchwork design. Once I had weaved the papers together I adhered them to the card blank using foam tape. Next I added some faux pearls to the top left and bottom right corners. Using handmade and mulberry papers I punched out the butterflies with a punch. These were then adhered with cosmic shimmer pva clear glue, two faux pearls were added to each of the butterflies back. Finally a shop brought sentiment was popped out of its locking joints and lightly sanded the edges to remove any locking joints that may have been left behind. Keep Calm And Bake On
Hello blogger's, what a day yesterday was we had torrential rain most of the day, so a perfect day to stay indoors and bake. Today's card was inspired by baking.
To begin with I used an A6 white hammered card blank as my card base. To this I added some baking themed papers that I printed from Crafters Companions 'hobbies' CD. The top paper is difficult to see in the photo but it has pictures of eggs in egg boxes, recipe books and bags of flour. Next using a blue polka dot paper cake case I folded it into quarters and snipped out the bottom to leave the edge. I used two of these and layered them up to make a frill cross the card where the two papers joined. Next using Spellbinders Wizard die 'chef' I die cut the chefs hat, oven mitt and spatula first from blue glitter card and then from some navy card stock. Whilst still in the die I inked through with faded jeans distress ink onto the navy die cuts. The glitter die cuts were adhered onto the card using foam tape. The navy die cuts were mounted onto the glitter die cuts using foam tape, but slightly offset to give them some dimension. Finally I stamped my sentiment using faded jeans distress ink and Justrite ' just keep calm' stamp set. This was then die cut with Spellbinders 'iron works motifs' dies. Whilst still in the die I inked through with faded jeans distress ink. This was then attached to the card using foam tape. Using the centers that I cut out of the cake cases I made a corner for each bottom corner of the card.

Confetti - Laugh, Breathe, Love, Live.
Hello bloggers, some thing a little different on today's card. Can you guess what it is. Check out the recipe below for the answer.
This card began as an A6 white hammered card blank on to which I stamped the gorgeous flowers around the edge using Adirondack Brights 'watermelon' ink pad and Creative Expressions 'buttons' stamp set. Next I stamped my sentiment onto some white card stock using bundled sage distress ink and the same stamp set as above. This was then die cut using Spellbinders 'eyelet circles' die. Whilst still in the die I inked through to give the topper a stenciling effect. Using some thin ribbon I threaded this through the die cut holes to give it some texture and dimension. At the bottom I tied the ribbon into a bow. The backing on this card was made by using some calico and bondaweb with scraps of wool, ribbon, fabric and felt. First I put the bondaweb onto the calico glue side down and ironed it to the fabric. Next I peeled off the backing and put my scraps of wool, ribbon, fabric and felt onto the fabric so it sticks to the calico. Using a piece of grease proof paper I cover the fabric with this then iron it. Next I used my sewing machine with a free motion foot and did some free motion sewing over my confetti applique. The end result is you have a lovely colourful backing that can be used on cards, scrapbook pages, bags and cushions etc etc.... I cut the confetti applique by hand to shape and adhered it to the card blank. On to the top of this I adhered topper using foam pads. I enjoy sewing as well as card making so it is nice to be able to use techniques from both that can cross over.

Decoupage flowers of friendship
Hello bloggers, today's card has been made from a complete kit of card blanks, envelopes, inserts and die-cut decoupage.
I love the shape of these cards and the fact that they have flowers on is a bonus. Great for lots of different occasions.
The hardest part was choosing which design to make first. The first thing I did after choosing my design was to push out the die cut shapes and with an old nail file file down the locking points to give a nice smooth finish. Once all the piece were out and filed down I began mounting up my decoupage flowers using cosmic shimmer dries clear glue. Once all the flowers were complete I left it to dry for a few hours as they were lots of layers of glue and decoupage. When it was dry I added my insert to finish the card. This card comes with a stand but I like the way it stands without it.
Just a quick one as I have been really poorly today. Happy Crafting xx Hazel

World's Best Teacher - popcorn kids
Hello bloggers a card today for all the teachers, as it getting to that time of the year when the summer term ends and the summer holidays begin.
This card began as a 6x6 hammered card blank. I stamped the duck and books image directly onto the card blank, using vintage photo distress ink and Crafters Companion Popcorn Kids 'school days' stamp set. This image was then coloured using ProMarker pens. Onto some white card stock I stamped the main topper image using vintage photo distress ink and then die cut it with Spellbinders 'crowned ovals' dies. Whilst still in the die I inked through the crowns using vintage photo distress ink. Using the same crowned oval die I die cut a mat from some copper textured mirror board. I linked the two die cuts together by off setting them and linking the crowns. Next I got a strip of 12" x 2" patterned paper and score it at regular intervals, this was then concertina up and the ends were adhered together. A small circle was punched from some scrap card and some glue was applied to it, this is where the concertina circle was flattened down to make a rosette. You have to hold it down until the glue dries or pop a weigh on top to prevent it from springing up. On to some more white card stock I stamped the sentiment using vintage photo distress ink. This was then punched out using a 2" circle punch. I inked up the edges and then adhered it to the rosette. Using vintage photo distress ink I inked the edge of the card blank. I then adhered the topper and sentiment to finish off the card.

With love - die cuts
Hello, bloggers today's card was make using a sheet of die cut shapes. I love the colour's and the sentiment, this card is so quick to make great for those last minute forgotten occasions
The card blank used for this was an A6 hammered white one that I embossed with Creative Expressions embossing folder 'floral'. Next I popped out the dies from the backing sheet and filed the locking joints down with an old nail file. I attached the sentiment circle to the top right corner and another circle to the bottom left corner. The one in the bottom left has been layered up with 2 different circles. Next using the ribbon from the sheet I scored it and then concertina it up to make a ruffle. This was then adhered with foam tape. The hearts I arranged so that they cascaded down the center of the card. I layered up a couple of butterflies to give it some depth and movement and then once they were glued in place and it was dry I arranged the wings to give some dimension and life to them. I then added two more single butterflies to finish off the card.

Get Well Soon!
Hello bloggers, I don't know what is going on at the minute, but everybody I speak to is feeling or has been unwell. Today's card is for everyone who has or is feeling under the weather. I hope it brightens your day x
Today's card began as an A6 white hammered card blank. First I adhered a piece of patterned mirror board to the card front, then cut it down to size. Next from some red embossed mirror board I die cut a mat using the largest die from Spellbinders' labels twenty eight'die set. Using the next sized die down in the same set I die cut my topper from white card stock. I stamped my image using Crafters' Companion S.W.A.L.K. 'get well soon' stamp set and black soot distress ink. The image was coloured using ProMarkers pens. The topper was adhered to the red mat and this was attached to the card blank. Finally I stamped my sentiments 'get' and 'soon' onto white card stock and die cut with the smallest die in the same set used previously. Whilst the die cuts were still in the die I inked through with mustard seed distress ink. The 'well' sentiment was stamped using mustard seed distress ink and Clarity Stamps 'letterbox' stamp set. This was then cut by hand and adhered to the card blank with foam tape.

Rose Shines - handmade paper
Hello bloggers, today's card is one for the girls with a beautiful but simple rose card.
This card began as an A6 white hammered card blank, to which I added a panel to the front made from pale pink handmade paper. Next I printed the topper and sentiment from my computer using 'Fairy Gemstones' Cd by Linda Ravenscroft. These were then die cut using Spellbinders labels one and scalloped labels one dies. From some silver holographic mirror board I die cut a mat for the sentiment and the topper. The sentiment and topper where then layered up using foam tape and adhered to the card. Finally I added a faux pearl in each corner of the card and a pink ribbon bow that I tied to the center of the card.

You Are My Sunshine
Hello bloggers, today's card is a sunshine card, as it seems it has managed to find the UK again :)
This card began as a piece of A4 peach coloured pearlescent card stock that I cut and scored to make a 6x6 card. Next I cut a mat from some silver holographic card stock and adhered it to the card blank. Next using some gorgeous rainbow coloured glitter card and Spellbinders 'grand scalloped circles' die I cut the next mat and adhered it to the card blank. I stamped my image onto some white card stock using black soot distress ink and coloured it using mainly chalks and a little bit of ProMarkers. The image was then die cut using Spellbinders 'eyelet circles' die, this was then adhered to the card blank, Onto a piece of glitter card I stamped the sun image from the same stamp set and punched it out with a circle punch, this was then adhered to the card blank. Using the same stamp set I stamped the sentiment using black soot distress ink. This was then cut out by hand and a mat was created from some more rainbow glitter card. The sentiment was the adhered to the mat and it was all attached to the card blank.

Explorer 61 - Happy Birthday
Hello bloggers, the card I have for you today is for the guys again.
This card began as an 8x8 white card blank. Using some copper coloured and textured mirror board I cut a mat 7 3/4" square and adhered it to the card blank. Next I cut some green glitter card to 7 1/4" square and adhered that to the card blank too. Onto a piece of white card stock I stamped my images using vintage photo distress ink and Kanban 'explorer' stamp set. Then I water coloured the explorer using vintage photo and bundled sage distress inks. Onto a spare piece of white card stock I stamped the compass and cut it out this was then mounted up with foam tape and attached to the card over the other compass image to give some depth to the card. Using clarity stamps 'letterbox' I stamped the 6 x' across the top for 60 and then used the L letter and some masking off to form the number 1. Finally the topper was cut to size and adhered to the card blank, then a sentiment from my stash was added.

Hello bloggers, today's card is a simple love card.
This card began as an A6 white hammered card blank. First I cut some red mirror board and made a mat slightly smaller that the card blank. This was adhered to the card blank. Next I cut some white card stock again slightly smaller but this time smaller than the red mat. Onto this I stamped the image using black soot distress ink and 'love is' stamp set from IndigoBlu. Next on to some more white card I stamped the image again using fired brick distress ink. From the red stamped image I cut a square of the image and attached it to the black stamped image using foam tape for dimension. Using clarity stamps letterbox stamp set and fired brick distress ink I stamped the sentiment. Finally I attached the topper to the card blank and attached a bow made from ribbon with love written on it.

Best Wishes - Native American Spirit
Hello, bloggers one for the boys today!
This card began as an A6 white hammered card blank. First I cut some gold embossed mirror board to the same size as the card. I then adhered it to the card blank. Next I cut some white card stock slightly smaller than the card to make a mat. Onto the white card stock I stamped the images using distress inks and Creative Expressions 'native american spirit' stamp set. Using some different white card stock I stamped the pots twice, cut them out and coloured with ProMarkers. These were then layered up using foam tape to give some dimension. The pots were then attached to the bottom left corner of the card. Finally I attached a sentiment and adhered the white topper to the card blank.
