Joyeux Noel ~ Baubles

Hello bloggers I hope that you are well and enjoying the extended weekend.  Today I have a Christmas card featuring some die cut baubles.

This card began as an A6 card blank.  First I adhered some green glitter card to the front of the card.  Next using some green polka dot patterned paper from my stash I cut a mat for the baubles.  I stamped the sentiment onto the paper using pine needles distress ink and Justrite 'large merry Christmas sentiments' stamp set.  It was then adhered onto the glitter card.  Using an old dictionary I die cut the baubles with Marianne Designs LR0182 baubles die set.  Once die cut I adhered them to the card using foam pads.  Finally I used some green bakers twine to tie a bow at the top of each bauble.

Happy Retirement ~ Gardening Spellbinders Labels E

Hello bloggers  I hope that you are all safe and well and the storms haven't caused you too much trouble.  Today's card is a retirement card with a cute hanging sign.

This card began as an A4 sheet of centura pearl card stock that I cut and scored to make a 6x4 card blank. I stamped my topper onto white card stock using vintage photo distress ink and Katy Sue Designs Simpler Times Elizabeth Bell 'little friend' stamp set.  Next I die cut it using Spellbinders 'labels E' die set.  Whilst still in the die I inked the edges with the same ink I stamped the topper with.

Using the same die set as above I die cut a topper using black card stock.  I then cut it in half to make a mat for the topper.  It was then adhered to the front of the card and the topper was placed on top.  The sentiment was stamped using the same stamp set and ink as above.  It was then die cut using Spellbinders 'back to basic tags' die set.  I then used a hole punch to punch two holes in the sign.  The edges were inked with the same ink pad.

Next I used some black card stock to die cut the hanger for the sign with Spellbinders 'elegant posts' die set.  The sign was added to the card using black bakers twine.  The elegant post die cut was then adhered over the twines ends to complete the card.

Turquoise Birth Stone ~ Birthday

Hello bloggers I hope you are all well and had a good day yesterday.  We had sunshine in the morning and terrible torrential rain in the afternoon so a good excuse to get crafting out of the rain.  I can't believe its the last day of February where has this year gone.  Today's card is a turquoise birth stone birthday card.

This card began as a white 8x8 card blank.  First I used an A4 sheet of floral patterned vellum and cut it down to 8"square.  Next I printed out my topper sheet using Linda Ravenscroft 'fairy gemstones' CD-ROM.  The toppers were die cut using Spellbinders 'labels one' die set.  Next using some green card stock I cut a mat for each of the toppers using the same die set.  The mats and toppers were adhered together and then adhered to the vellum mat.  Using some more of the same green card stock and Spellbinders 'asian motifs' die set I die cut two embellishments and then adhered them in opposite corners of the card.  Next using some turquoise bakers twine I tied together the two corner embellishments to give the card more detail and interest.  Once it was looped through several times I tied it off in the middle.  Using Spellbinders 'asian motifs' die set I die cut two of the same embellishments out of green card stock and two out of vellum.  These were then layered up off set and attached to the knot in the centre of the bakers twine to complete the card. Finally the vellum mat was adhered to the card blank, this was done last so that I could position the adhesive behind other elements, so that it didn't show through and spoil the look of the card.

PotPourri Christmas Tag

Hello bloggers today I have a Christmas tag made using just one set of dies.

This tag has been made using my paper scrap box and Spellbinders PotPourri die set throughout..  First I die cut the tag shape using Spellbinders 'Potpourri' die set.  Using some snowflake patterned paper from my scrap box I also cut a second tag shape using the same die. A hole was punched in the top left corner using a hole punch.   I then adhered the paper tag to the card stock one.   Next I die cut a ribbon heart and added some red bakers twine and tied it off.  I also die cut a silver holographic and a white heart.  On the white heart I inked through the die using barn door distress ink. The two stars were die cut and layered up.    Using some tinsel like twine I adhered a strip across the tag.   Next the vellum sentiment was adhered in the top left corner.  The hearts and star were then added to the tag.   Finally some bakers twine was added to thw punched hole.

Sending lots of smiles your way

Hello bloggers today we have a simple card with a lovely sentiment.

This card began as a white hammered 6x6 card blank.  To the front I adhered a mat slightly smaller than the card blank using some silver textured holographic card stock. Before sticking this down completely I wrapped  black bakers twine around the mat. Next using some vintage papers from my stash I die cut four banners using Spellbinders 'ribbon banner LG' die set.  I then adhered three of the die cuts vertically down the card.  On the fourth banner I stamped my sentiment using black soot distress ink and Polka Doodles 'sensational sentiments' stamp set.  The banner was then adhered across the card.  Next I stamped my tag using Spellbinders 'holiday tags' die set and black soot distress ink.  Whilst still in the die I inked the tag using antique linen distress ink.  This was then tied to the card using the bakers twine.  Finally I adhered a faux pearl in each corner of the card.

Ruby

Hello, today's card is a fantasy card of a fairy named Ruby.

This card began with a shop brought 8x8 white card blank.  From some textured silver holographic card stock I cut a mat smaller than the card base and adhered it to the card blank.  Next from Fairy Gemstones CD I printed out a backing sheet and a topper sheet.  Using Spellbinders Labels 1 die I die cut the toppers and sentiment.  From silver holographic mirror board I die cut a mat for each topper and sentiment using the labels 1 die.  I adhered the toppers to the silver mats.  Next I cut down the backing paper from the CD to make a mat and adhered it to the silver mat. The toppers were adhered to the card bottom left and top right. Using Spellbinders Asian Accents die I cut two corners out of the silver mirror board. Through the corners I threaded some red bakers twine, this part was a bit tricky so I ended up threading part of it and then adhering the corners down and then finished of threading it whilst they were attached to the card.  In the centre I knotted the twine and wrapped it round all the strands to pull it together in the middle.  Finally I attached the sentiment topper over the knot using foam pads.

I hope you enjoyed this card the photograph really doesn't do it justice as it looks better in real life.
