Blanket Of Love ~ Knitted Square ~ Heart

Hello bloggers, today I have something a little different with no paper or card in sight.  I have a bit of knitting to share.

This pattern was given to me by another blogger to make squares for a chairty blanket to raise funds for the hospital that treated her son for cancer.  I helped along with many others knitting squares so that they could be attached together to form blankets.

It uses a simple pattern with only knit and pearl stitches.  To begin I used knitting needles UK size 5 and some yellow yarn to cast on 37 stitches.  I then complete K1,P1 along the rows from 1-6.

At row 7 the design changes.

At row 17 the centre heart begins to form and is completed by row 37

Rows 39 - 47 are alternative knit and pearl rows.

Finally row 48 to 52 are K1, P1 rows.

I love this square they don't take long to do and can be done by a beginner as it only uses two simple stitiches.  If anyone would like the full pattern please message.

You're Having A Giraffe ~ Happy birthday ~ Male

Hello bloggers, I hope today finds you well and yesterday was a good one.  Today I have a card for the males with this giraffe card.

This card began as an A4 sheet of brown card stock that I cut and scored to make a DL card blank.  Next I used Pollyanna Pickering World Wildlife DVD-ROM, to print out the giraffe topper.  It was matted onto some gold mirror board and then adhered to the left hand side of the card.  Using another piece of gold mirror board I used the Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the 'happy birthday' sentiment from the pre-loaded ones available.  The sentiment was added to the bottom of the card.  Next I used  'word' and created 'You're Having A Giraffe' text.  Once printed out onto white card stock it was die cut using Spellbinders 'labels 15' die set.  I cut this twice as it is a square die so I could nake it into an oblong.  The edges were inked with vintage photo distress ink and then it was added to the top of the card.

Happy Birthday ~ Gaming ~ Hobbies ~ Decoupage Pyramage

Hello bloggers I hope you are well and enjoying your week.  Today I have a card for all the gamers out there.

This card began as an A4 sheet of white card stock that was scored to make an A5 card blank.  Next using Crafter's Companion 'hobbies' CD-ROM I printed out a backing sheet and a pyramage sheet.  Once printed the backing paper was cut to size and adhered to the front of the card.  The pyramage pieces were cut out and  I ran a black ProMarker around the edges before layering up with foam pads.  The completed topper was added to the card blank.

The sentiment was cut from white card stock on the Brother Scan N Cut using one of the pre-loaded sentiments.  Once scaled to size and cut it was adhered to the card blank.

Happy Birthday ~ Little Friend ~ Monchrome

Hello bloggers I hope you  are managing to get some crafting into your busy week.   Today I have a simple monochrome card to share.

This card began as an A4 sheet of kraft card stock that was cut and scored to make a 6x5.5 card blank.  Next onto white card stock I stamped the topper using vintage photo distress ink and Katy Sue Designs Simpler Times Elizabeth Bell 'little friend' stamp set. Once stamped I die cut the topper with Spellbinders 'labels 28' die set.  I then inked the edges with the same ink pad.  I used a water brush and vintage photo distress ink to give the fence on the topper some colour.

Next I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock using the same ink pad and stamp set as above.  It was then die cut with Spellbinders 'labels 33' die set.  I then inked the edges with the same ink pad. Finally the topper and sentiment were adhered to the card blank.

Love ~ Swirled Heart ~ Boyfriend

Hello bloggers I hope you had a good day yesterday.  I had a busy one with medical appointments.  Today I have a love or valentines card for a boyfriend.

This card began as a white 5x5 card blank that was cut down to 5x4.5.  Next I added a white and blue tyre tread patterned paper from my stash to the card blank. The blue heart patterned paper was cut slightly smaller than the card blank and then adhered into place.  Next using a white and blue polka dot patterned paper I die cut the heart with Spellbinders Die D-lites 'swirled heart' die set.  The heart was adhered to the top right of the card.  Using an off cut of the blue and white tyre tread paper and Brother Scan N Cut I used two of it's pre-loaded sentiments and cut them out.  The friend text actually said friends but I cut off the s to make friend.  The sentiments were then adhered to the card blank.

A Friends Is ~ Bloom ~ Sprig ~ Flower

Hello bloggers, well here we are into the first week of February already.  Today's card is a Sentiment card with a lovely bloom.

This card began as an A4 sheet of purple card stock that was cut and scored to make a 6x4 card blank.  Next I added a purple floral paper to the front of the card. I used an off cut of lilac card stock and Spellbinders 'labels 20' die set to cut the topper.  Once die cut I inked the edges with a black ProMarker.  I then stamped the sentiment onto the topper using Creative Expressions 'sentimental sayings' stamp set and staz-on black ink pad.  Once stamped the topper was adhered to the card.
Next using some off cuts of lilac card stock and purple holographic mirror board I die cut the flower using Spellbinders Die D-lites 'blooms 4' die set.  Once die cut I used an embossing tool to give them some shape and then adhered the layers together.  Next using some green card stock and Spellbinders Die D-lites 'sprigs' die set I die cut the sprig twice.  Finally the sprigs and bloom flower were added to the bottom right hand corner of the card.

Spring ~ Flower ~ Vinyl ~ Brother Scan N Cut

Hello bloggers, welcome to a new month with a pinch and a punch.  I hope you had a good start to the weekend yesterday.  Today I have a card made using of just vinyl and the card stock for the card blank.

This card began as an A4 sheet of white card stock that I scored to make an A5 card blank.  Next using a pre-loaded design from the Brother Scan N Cut, I cut out of yellow and turquoise vinyl a flower.  The yellow flower was adhered to the card blank and then I layered the turquoise one on top at a different angle so you can see all the petals.  Next I cut a 1" circle from green vinyl and a stem with leaves.  Once cut I added the circle to the centre of the flower and added the leaves to the flower.  Next using a pre-loaded sentiment on the Brother Scan N cut I cut the word 'spring' out of purple vinyl.  Finally the 'spring' word was added to the bottom of the card.
